Happy TBFCMGT! 🍁🦃

I hope you survived Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and are supporting local nonprofits today on Giving Tuesday. Instead of giving a financial contribution this year, I donated art supplies to our neighborhood elementary school — and I’m teaching at Career Day this week (more on my activity we do later).

Also thank you to everyone who shared their feedback about tech & tactics! I’m still processing your notes, and will be making slight changes starting in next week’s newsletter, so stay tuned for what’s to come.

OK that’s it, on with this week’s issue.

In The News

The gold standard of business news

Morning Brew is transforming the way working professionals consume business news.

They skip the jargon and lengthy stories, and instead serve up the news impacting your life and career with a hint of wit and humor. This way, you’ll actually enjoy reading the news—and the information sticks.

Best part? Morning Brew’s newsletter is completely free. Sign up in just 10 seconds and if you realize that you prefer long, dense, and boring business news—you can always go back to it.

Custom Wiki Using Notion’s Databases & Layouts Features

I’ll be honest, I don’t get Notion Wikis. I don’t like the layout or how you have to convert a database to access it. I wish it was as easy as having the page verification feature in databases to toggle on/off just like sub-tasks.

Recently I worked with a client on a MASSIVE migration from Slite, and it was a feature they had hoped they could utilize, but like me, are not a fan of the Wiki layout.

So, I built a pretty solid hack and released it as a free superSYSTM™ for ya!

The hack is pretty straightforward and uses a few extra properties (which you can hide using Custom Layouts), including;

  • an Updates property that lets you know when a page is set to expire or when it was last updated if no Verification was set; and,

  • a few native Database Automations to auto-tag the Page Owner to update the expired page.
