tech & tactics is a weekly newsletter to help you master SaaS for your biz systms.
Happy random Tuesday in December!
Itâs a beautiful 75 degrees here in Texas, but I am definitely feeling that build-in-winter, set-all-the-goals vibe, you know what I mean? Over the past month, Iâve been knee-deep in a Notion migration, including one Iâm sharing more about below, and another that Iâve put in a collective 115 hours on (yes Iâve been counting) â there have been tears, stiff joints, and many, many cups of coffee. All of this has got me thinking, how in the heck can I do better next year; be more efficient, work more strategically, and what do I need to master to achieve this? I plan on sharing more on this front in my future content, so you can work better & more intentionally (and not need to hire me đ).
OK thatâs it, on with this weekâs issue.
stay cool â Sara Loretta (@ _systmsâ˘)

Why is it that Wordpress Devs donât think about the greater good of the internet?
I just finished a migration for a construction company, and like every CRM sales pipeline I build, I connect the clientâs intake forms to Notion either by API or webhook.
Except in this case.
I knew the moment that my client said they were on Wordpress, the project just got more involved, because 8/10 past projects Iâve had, use plugins that literally donât work with the rest of the internet.
In this instance, weâre not talking about a single contact form, but a lead magnet quiz that spits out a cost estimation for the clientâs remodel.
This quiz is used in ads & is a primary source of leads for my clients.
With roughly 25 leads per week coming in (even if it was lower), this quiz needed to work across the board â not create more work. However, the way it was developed (and the plugin that was used), required my client to manually download a CSV of the submissions, which often got put on the back-burner.
Thatâs A LOT of money being left on the table!
So if weâre talking a matter of signing on a client for an $80k bathroom addition or losing them because we had to carve out time to do the work, of course, Iâm going to fix this for my client, even though it wasnât part of the original project scope.
No questions asked.
So to my Wordpress devs out there, a quick tip. Pay attention. Ask questions, find out what the clientâs tech stack includes and how what youâre doing will hinder or accelerate the work. Even if you do the bare minimum and just connect the tools they have to make their website actually convert â yes itâs not just copywriting or cute design but the entire experience overall.
AnywhoâŚ. if you want to know;
how I brought my client out of the Stone Age,
gave them full control to manage and edit their lead magnet without adding another paid subscription to do it,
and fully automate the submissions to be auto-added to their Notion CRM to lock in projects fasterâŚ.
